Thrive: Thrive The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Happier Life

Why I bought the book?

As you can probably tell by the name of this website and the content, I enjoy reading and writing about self-development. This book clearly fitted by interests. I actually stumbled upon this book by accident on my journey back home from work one day.

I was in Waterloo station (a big train station in London, UK) and in book store called Foyles where I stumbled across the book on what the desks of new books at the store. After reading the blurb and the introduction I was quite intrigued by this book written by Arianna Huffington that focused on a third metric of success. She spoke a lot about having a balanced life and sleep, the two things I thought would hinder your success.

Review

I would give this book four stars as I thought it was so refreshing to see someone talk about success from a different perspective. Also, someone who was speaking from experience (she built the Huffington post) and talked about her own burn out from a lack of sleep. This book was addictive in parts, but I did find some occasional repetition and the book I felt was a bit longer than it needed to be, but brought about points that had not previously been covered.

If you are interested in reading a book that’s going to give you another perspective of life and success I would definitely recommend this book for you.
